API Terms
Last updated: October 23, 2026
Draft — this document is pending legal review and may change before Loqva's official launch.
These terms apply when you use the Loqva API, its change feed, licensed snapshots or evaluation datasets (together, the “API”), run by LogCore Technology LLC. They add to the Terms of Service. How the API works is in the developer docs.
1. The content and its license
Public posts and comments on Loqva belong to the people who wrote them and are licensed to everyone under CC BY-SA 4.0. Nothing in these terms takes away a right that license gives you. When you show or republish content, credit the author and link to the post and the license, as each record's attribution field does, and share adaptations under the same license.
What these terms govern is the API itself: the access, the structured records, the quality signals, the change feed and the datasets we prepare. Members-only content, private messages, personal account data, posts by people under 18, adults-only communities and the posts of members who opted out are never part of the API.
2. Keys
- Keep your API keys secret. Don't put them in public code, apps or web pages.
- Use one app per purpose. Don't create several apps or accounts to get around limits.
- You're responsible for everything done with your keys. Revoke a key at once if it leaks.
3. What each tier allows
- Free: personal, educational and non-commercial research use.
- Developer: building and testing an app, including the change feed, without commercial use.
- Commercial: showing what the API returns inside a commercial product or service.
- Enterprise: licensed snapshots and evaluation datasets, and training, fine-tuning or evaluating AI models on what the API delivers, under a signed agreement.
Using what you get through the API to train, fine-tune or evaluate an AI model, or to build a dataset for that, needs an Enterprise agreement. Limits for each tier are on the developer docs and may change with notice.
4. Deletions and changes
People edit and delete their posts, close their accounts and opt out, and moderators remove content. When the change feed sends a delete event, or we otherwise tell you content was removed, delete it from your copies (including datasets and indexes you built from it) within 30 days. Keep copies reasonably up to date with the feed, or refresh them at least every 30 days.
5. People's privacy
- Use usernames only to credit authors. Don't try to find out who someone is.
- Don't build profiles of individual people, or combine the API with other data to identify, track or target them.
- Don't contact Loqva members using the API, and don't sell or share anything about them.
6. Not allowed
- Scraping Loqva's pages at a volume that strains the site instead of using the API.
- Getting around rate limits, tiers or access controls.
- Saying or implying that Loqva or its members endorse you or your product.
- Anything that breaks the law or the Content Policy, or harms Loqva's members.
7. Fees
The Free tier costs nothing. Paid tiers are charged as shown when they become available; Enterprise prices are set in a signed agreement.
8. Suspension and ending
We may limit, suspend or end access that breaks these terms or puts members or the service at risk, and we may change or end the API with reasonable notice. You can stop at any time by revoking your keys. Section 4 (deletions) and section 5 (privacy) still apply to copies you keep.
9. No warranty
The API and its content are provided “as is”. Content is written by members and isn't advice from LogCore Technology LLC. The limits of liability in the Terms of Service apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Arkansas.
